What is UCAT(UKCAT)?

The University Clinical Aptitude Test is formerly known as UCAT which was previously known as UKCAT or UK Clinical Aptitude Test. UCAT score is required for admission to a medical/dentistry degree at many UK universities. As of 2019, UKCAT name has changed to UCAT giving it more global reach. Having said that, UCAT ANZ is launced in Australia and New Zealand. The UCAT is computer based exam which is conducted at Pearson Vue Centres between July and October every year.

What university requires the UCAT score?

It is suggested to check the university requirements before booking the test. Each university may have different requirements for overseas applicants. The UKCAT website has the most up to date list.

How is UCAT scored?

As per the official website www.ucat.ac.uk. UCAT is scored between 1200-3600

Verbal Reasoning score reported on a 300–900 score scale, in 1-point increments

Decision Making score reported on a 300–900 score scale, in 1-point increments

Quantitative Reasoning score reported on a 300–900 score scale, in 1-point increments

Abstract Reasoning score reported on a 300–900 score scale, in-point increments

Situational Judgment score reported on a Band of 1 to 4 (1 being the highest)

Any section in which you answer no questions at all will be reported as a No Score (NS)

How many times you can appear for UCAT exam?

You can appear for UCAT test only once each year. It is two hours test which consist of multiple choice questions.

What is the fee for UCAT?

Tests outside the UK cost £75

Within UK it costs £80
